Pupils from Primary 7, were invited to attend a special workshop with author Alastair Chisholm
at Gryffe High School. Some pupils from S1 also joined the event. Alastair shared his
journey of how he became an author and the characters he has created
over the years. So far Alastair has written 25 children’s books, with
one of them being Inch and Grub, which won an award in 2022 from the
Scottish Book Trust. The pupils learned about the qualities that a
successful author must have, with imagination and empathy being the
most important skills. Our pupils engaged in story start
tasks and discussions as part of the workshop and were inspired
by Alastair and all that he has achieved.
