P7 were so lucky today to have a visit from a great grandmother who told us all about her experiences of war. The Second World War was declared when she was only 13 years of age.
The pupils were so engaged, you could have heard a pin drop.
A fascinating afternoon for all of us hearing about bombings in London, public shelters, fire fighting, the Women’s Land Army, farming skills, passing soldiers, prisoners of war, rationing, and so much more.
